As with any light globe change you should always turn the switch off first. Never work with the light switch turned on. Then wait for the globe to cool down.

Who Invented Electric Christmas Lights?

Thomas Edison and Edward Johnson (1880 &1882) and Albert Sadacca (1917).

Thomas Edison, a name we all know well for developing the first successful practical light bulb, created the very first strand of electric lights.

The strands of electric lights were strung around the outside of his laboratory during the Christmas season of 1880.

In 1882 Edward Johnson, Edison’s friend and business partner put together the very first string of electric Christmas tree lights.  80 red, white and blue bulbs were hung around his Christmas tree.  But what is more amazing is the tree actually revolved aswell.

These astonishing advancements were a little ahead of their time and it would take almost forty years for electric Christmas lights to become the tradition that we all know and love.

Copper Pendant Light

Market Copper PendantThe brand new Market Copper Pendant is available now at the Moonah or Sorell stores.

Copper home wares are extremely on trend at the moment. Copper light shades can work well in contemporary, traditional, country and industrial style homes.

We just love this pendant – especially when used in a series above a kitchen island bench.

Style the rest of the room with black and white shades and possibly a copper candle to repeat the copper tone around the room.

Don’t have a copper candle? See these other copper home wares finds that will team up with your new Market Copper Pendant.
